Dinner with Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is quite the lifestyle doyen and I love her take on entertaining.  For the launch of her cookbook My Father's Daughter, Gwyneth teamed up with One Kings Lane to create a sophisticated and relaxed dinner celebration.  The OKL team were kind enough to put together some tips which we can use for any soiree to give it the Gwyneth touch.

PERSONAL INVIT@TIONS:
Instead of printed invitations guests received a personal note from Gwyneth (Love the monogram!) letting them know about the party.  It's a simple way to make an event feel personal and special.

MENUS WITH STYLE:
A piece of slate was used to show a handwritten menu to again, give a personal touch and create a sense of anticipation for the night ahead.

SIMPLE TABLE SETTINGS:
The table setting was kept simple but elegant with unfussy and relaxed details - Place cards were casually leaned against a glass and linen napkins were tucked under bowls.

UNEXPECTED VASES:
To keep with the simple and relaxed table setting maison jars were used in lieu of fussy vases to achieve a casual tone.  I love the fact the flowers were given room to breath rather than too many buds in the one vase.

PUT A THROW ON IT:
A basket of cashmere throws were set out for guests if they caught a chill.  One Kings Lane and Gwyneth feel anticipating guests needs is a sign of a great hostess and I couldn't agree more - its the small gesture which goes a long way.
